How many people do you know who want to live abroad?
How many people do you know who want to do a master’s or PhD?
How many people do you know who want to speak English fluently?
How many people do you know who want to become a content creator?
How many people do you know who want to travel the world?
How many people do you know who want to live their dream life?
MANY…
We all can dream, desire, wish, and want things, but only a few of us take action. If you don’t take action, you blame everything but yourself while the only person who is responsible of your life is YOU.
A couple of weeks ago, I watched Ali Abdaal’s following video:
From this video, I took two actionable insights:
First, decide on the title and thumbnail of your video. Then, come up with 3-4 talking points for your video. Finally, hit the record button and start talking. This is the easiest way to create YouTube videos if you have a full-time job and a busy life.
The intro of the video should take about 30 seconds, and the hook should be very clear.
After watching this video, I immediately started applying these insights to my video production process, which not only eases the process but also increases the quality of my videos.
A couple of days ago, I watched Ali Abdaal’s another video:
In this video, Ali talks about the key characteristics of a small but promising YouTube channels. My YouTube channel ticked most of these characteristics except one: “Does your YouTube channel look professional with the banner, photo, and thumbnails?” That is, do you use PowerPoint to create your thumbnails, or do you at least use Canva?
Until this week, I always used PowerPoint. But after watching this video, I had to change this. I created a professional Canva account and updated most of the thumbnails. Why? Because I want my YouTube channel to grow, knowing what it takes to achieve this but not doing anything does not make any sense.
This is, I believe, why most people get stuck. Most people know what they need to do to achieve their dreams but do not take action. And the result? They cannot live their dream life. I don’t want to be one of these people.
DO YOU?
If not, you know what to do. Stop thinking about your dreams, stop planning for your goals, and stop saying, “I will start after I watch one more video about this topic or read one more book.” Just take a small step.
Taking a small step will make you one step closer to your dreams, but not thinking about it.
Do you want to live your life as a dreamer and keep blaming everything but yourself for not living your dream life?
OR do you want to be a doer and live your dream life by taking a small step every day?
Your life, your choice.
Cheers,
Sidika
